Shoal Creek is served by both Plano ISD and Lewisville ISD, and the dividing line follows the development phases. Published sources describe Phase VI as Plano ISD, with Barksdale Elementary, Renner Middle School, Shepton High School and Plano West Senior High, and Phases I through V as Lewisville ISD, with Hicks Elementary, Arbor Creek Middle School and Hebron High School. Those are two structurally different high school experiences: Plano ISD splits ninth and tenth grade from eleventh and twelfth across separate campuses, while Hebron is a single four-year high school. Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, 200 acres with trails, is nearby, along with The Shops at Willow Bend, Lakeside Market, The Shops at Legacy and Stonebriar Centre in Frisco.
