August 2017 Irving New Home Sales recorded 12 sales. Low inventory of resale homes has builders scrambling to keep up with the demand. Builders have now some spec homes to sell, although most are under contract. New home construction is being impacted by lack of construction workforce that has moved to Houston for the past hurricane Harvey construction opportunities. Irving's strategic central location (Las Colinas is 10 minutes away from DFW international airport), low tax rate, good school system along with some homes in Coppell ISD, and unsurpassed quality of life continue to garner national recognition and highlight the community as a premier business destination. This combined with good Coppell ISD & Irving ISD schools is causing an increase in demand from families relocating to Dallas metro area.
