Southgate Homes Series and Communities in DFW: What the Series Name Does and Does Not Tell You

Southgate Homes Series and Communities in DFW: What the Series Name Does and Does Not Tell You
Public listings show Southgate Homes selling named series in DFW: the Painted Tree 50 and 60 series in McKinney, the Windsong Ranch 61 and 71 series in Prosper, and The Reserve at Watters in Allen. A series name describes a product line. It does not tell you the town, district or taxing picture of your exact address. Tell me the community and I will verify the lot.

What does a series name mean?
In public listings, a series is a named product line within a community. The numbers in the 50, 60, 61 and 71 series are how listings label them. I verify the exact lot dimensions for the homesite you want. I do not assume them from a series name.
Width changes plans, garage layout, yard and neighbor spacing. Read my new construction lot selection guide and my Highland Homes lot width page to see how I think about it.
Does the series name tell you the town or the district?
No. Allen, McKinney and Prosper are separate towns with separate taxing pictures. The Town of Prosper has no public improvement districts, so a Prosper community has none by jurisdiction. I do not state a district or special district for Allen or McKinney addresses here. I verify each address.

Frequently asked questions
Where does Southgate Homes build in DFW?
Public listings and builder announcements name The Reserve at Watters in Allen, Painted Tree Lakeside South in McKinney and Windsong Ranch in Prosper. Confirm current availability with me.
What are the Southgate 50, 60, 61 and 71 series?
Public listings use those labels for named product lines: Painted Tree 50 and 60 series in McKinney and Windsong Ranch 61 and 71 series in Prosper. Confirm the lot dimensions for your exact homesite.
Does a Southgate series name tell me the district or taxes?
No. The series is a product line. The town, county and taxing districts belong to the address, so verify them for the exact lot.

The Town of Prosper has none. That is a fact about the town, not a concession from any builder. Verify any MUD at the address level.
