Buying a Tradition Homes Home in DFW? Get Your Own Agent First
Yes. You can bring your own agent to buy a Tradition Homes new build in DFW. The sales representative in the model works for the builder, not for you. Tradition Homes builds in Prosper and Celina, where the town, county and district can differ by address. Call me before you tour and tell me the community.

Who does the Tradition Homes sales representative work for?
The sales representative works for Tradition Homes. That person can explain the plans and the community well. That person still represents the builder on price, terms and schedule.
Texas law draws the same line. Under SB 1968, effective January 1, 2026, a licensed agent needs a written agreement with you before showing homes or making offers for you. SB 1968 also repealed subagency, the old arrangement where a buyer's agent could end up working for the seller. Read who represents you in a Texas model home.
Who is Tradition Homes, and where does it build?
Trade press reported in 2019 that Bill Darling and Zach Schneider were launching Tradition Homes in DFW. Darling co-founded Darling Homes, which was sold in 2013. Public listings and builder announcements show Tradition Homes in Windsong Ranch in Prosper, Mustang Lakes in Celina and The Parks at Wilson Creek in Celina.
Those communities sit in two towns with different tax and district pictures. I explain the differences in Tradition Homes in Prosper and Celina. See my Windsong Ranch guide, Mustang Lakes guide and Parks at Wilson Creek page.
Why call me before your first visit?
Registration rules differ by builder and by community. I handle that before you walk in. A visit you make alone can change what is possible later.

What do I do for you at a Tradition Homes community?
I represent you from your first call through closing. I read what you are asked to sign. I verify the facts that change from address to address. I coordinate your lender, title company and inspections.
I will not publish how I negotiate. That is the work you hire me for. Start with my new construction buyer page and my DFW new construction realtor page. Watch how I walk communities on my YouTube channel.
What does it cost to use a buyer's agent?
Agent compensation is a written, negotiable term. We cover it in our first conversation, before you sign anything. The answer depends on the community and on your agreement with me, so I will not guess here.
